How to continue work and pursue M. Com parallelly?

22 Nov 2021

Many professionals want to continue their study but they cannot because of the regular paycheck they are receiving. However, some people still have the aspiration of completing their M. Com degree alongside their profession and for them, the best option is Distance education. This mode of education apart from fulfilling their aspiration of higher education will also contribute to augmenting their career prospects and making them professionally more enriched.

Following are some ways in which M. Com via distance education helps in continuing study and working side by side:

1. Working people have a dearth of time, so it is not possible for them to attend regular classes at a fixed time, which is one of the reasons for their discontinuation of education. Distance M. Com is imparted through online lectures, informative video, and audio content, and online lectures, apart from highly educating and interesting study materials. Hence a student can learn at his or her own pace in a distance education according to their flexibility and schedule.

2. The cost of education is also another why many people are forced to drop their education unfinished. Campus education has many costs associated with it like traveling expenses, accommodation expenses, food costs, tuition fees, and books costs. Distance education comes free of such expenses, the study materials are included within the course and the tuition fees are comparatively much lesser than regular courses. Moreover, there are no accommodation and traveling expenses involved as one can pursue this course sitting in the comfort of the home.

3. Many academic enthusiasts wish but cannot pursue higher education due to age barriers. Formal education is bound by various rules of age and time, hence many working people after a certain age cannot pursue higher education, even if they wish to via regular mode of education. Additionally, the idea of attending physical classes is exasperating for them. For such education aspirants, distance M. Com is the most viable option. In the distance mode of education, there is no barrier of age, nor the prospective students would have to pass hurdled cut-off marks and admission tests. This makes admission quite easy for all.

4. A common myth about distance education is that people think distance degree is not equally accredited like the regular courses. The truth is, a distance degree is equally prized like regular courses, provided that the certificate is awarded by an institution recognized by University Grants Commission (U.G.C). Distance education is at par with regular courses and is equally considered with formal education in regards to job opportunities and future career prospects.

Handling a job and education at the same time needs a lot of balancing, planning, and prioritizing. One must keep the following aspects in mind:

  • Create a daily routine equally distributing time between study and work.
  • Update the employer about your decision and information about exam dates in advance.
  • Utilize your time productively.
  • Maintain a healthy regime.

Though many students are bound to choose between the two, distance education provides interested students the scope of continuing their paused education together with their profession.
